Sega teased fans about its appearance at The Game Awards: “Stay tuned — you won’t want to miss this,” the company wrote on YouTube.
Exact details remain undisclosed. Sega reportedly has several announced projects that have not yet been revealed publicly: reboots of classic franchises Crazy Taxi, Golden Axe, and Jet Set Radio; a new iteration of Virtua Fighter 6; and potentially a new 3D Sonic platformer — the series hasn’t seen a title of that kind in three years, and it will celebrate its 35th anniversary next year.
In the past the company preferred to keep its appearances secret, but in recent years it has more often given fans advance notice to reduce the risk of leaks. What Sega will present at the show has not been confirmed.
