Science SARU Unveils New Ghost in the Shell Video Featuring Song in Fictional Language
The team behind the Ghost in the Shell anime franchise has released a dedicated music video for the new track “po-ai feat. Mirai Moriyama,” ahead of the official soundtrack launch on September 9.
Series director Moko-chan directed the video. Project music supervisor Taisei Iwasaki wrote the lyrics, composed the music, and handled the arrangement. Japanese actor and dancer Mirai Moriyama, known for roles in Shin Kamen Rider and Rage, provided the vocals.
Iwasaki invented an original language specifically for the song. He developed the fictional dialect through interactions with several artificial intelligence systems before translating his written lyrics into it.
The new anime series premiered on July 7. Seven of its ten episodes are currently available, with the season finale scheduled for September 8. The official soundtrack album containing “po-ai” will debut the following day.
