Filmmaker Ari Aster, known for his work on Midsommar, has tapped Scarlett Johansson to headline his upcoming feature, titled Scapegoat.
The project will be produced by A24. Currently, both plot details and a release date remain under wraps. Johansson has recently wrapped production on the latest The Exorcist film. Additionally, she is set to appear in the drama Paper Tiger—a selection for the Cannes Film Festival competition—and the animated feature Ray Gunn, both of which are slated for release later this year.
Aster previously debuted Eddington last year. That film, which featured Joaquin Phoenix and Pedro Pascal, faced a challenging reception at the box office and garnered a polarizing response from critics.
