“Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir” to get a live-action series from “Slow Horses” producers
See-Saw Films, the production house behind the acclaimed series Slow Horses, is currently developing a live-action adaptation of the popular Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir franchise.
The original animated series, which debuted in France in 2015, has become a global phenomenon, amassing over 55 billion views on YouTube. Its success led to the 2023 release of the feature film Ladybug & Cat Noir: The Movie, which grossed 828 million rubles in the Russian box office alone.
The narrative follows Marinette and Adrien, two seemingly ordinary teenagers who lead double lives as the costumed superheroes Ladybug and Cat Noir. Their journey takes a dramatic turn as the secrets they desperately guard begin to unravel.
According to the producers, this new live-action iteration is intended to appeal to a more mature and expansive audience. Emme Hoy, known for her work on Sweetpea, has been tapped as the showrunner. An official release date has yet to be announced.
