Scalpers Profit From Resident Evil Requiem Shortage: Discs Resold for Triple the Price

Collectors looking to secure a physical console copy of Resident Evil Requiem have encountered a significant obstacle. An unprecedented surge in demand has caused physical stock to vanish from retail shelves almost instantly.
This shortage has naturally attracted the attention of opportunistic scalpers. Online marketplaces are now being flooded with listings for Resident Evil Requiem discs at heavily inflated prices.
The standard edition of Resident Evil Requiem, which originally retailed for $70, is now frequently listed for over $100. The situation is even more extreme for the Deluxe Edition; its price has skyrocketed from a $90 MSRP to upwards of $250.
Beyond the games themselves, a variety of related merchandise has become a target for speculation. This includes limited-edition watches, figurines, and even the highly anticipated version for the Switch 2.
