Sam Raimi to Produce Film Adaptation of Horror Game 99 Nights in Forest
Sam Raimi, the mastermind behind The Evil Dead, is set to produce a film adaptation of the survival horror title 99 Nights in Forest, as reported by Deadline.
The project is currently being developed by 20th Century Studios, with Academy Award-winning screenwriter Josh Cooley (known for Toy Story 4 and Transformers One) penning the script. Originally debuting on the Roblox platform in 2025, the game challenges players to track down missing children in a sprawling wilderness and endure 99 harrowing nights while fending off wolves, bears, and the forest’s malevolent primary antagonist, the Deer.
99 Nights in Forest stands as a massive hit within the Roblox ecosystem, having amassed over 26 billion visits since its launch. While a director for the project has yet to be announced, Raimi’s recent work includes the comedic thriller Don’t Move, starring Rachel McAdams, which debuted earlier this year.
