Variety has unveiled the compensation details for Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, and Emily Blunt for their roles in the sequel to The Devil Wears Prada.
Each actress secured a $12.5 million salary. Meryl Streep initially requested this amount, subsequently insisting that her co-stars receive equivalent pay. Following the film’s theatrical run, the trio’s earnings could potentially climb to $20 million or more when accounting for performance bonuses and merchandising revenue.
The film premiered in early May and has already grossed $324 million. In this second installment, the formidable editor-in-chief of Runway magazine, Miranda Priestly (Streep), reunites with her former assistant Andy (Hathaway) to tackle new professional challenges. The project also features appearances by Stanley Tucci and Lady Gaga.
