Ronda Rousey brings Mortal Kombat cosplay to WWE’s Elimination Chamber

February 18, 2019 Ronda Rousey introduced her Mortal Kombat position to the WWE ring.

Ronda Rousey introduced the spirit of Mortal Kombat to WWE’s Elimination Chamber final evening, and never simply because she completed her opponent in lower than two minutes. Rousey entered the ring in full Sonya Blade gear, full with military-style padding and canine tags – most just like the character’s look in MKX – a giant step away from her traditional look.

Rousey will formally be part of the Mortal Kombat 11 roster in April because the voice of Sonya, so that is seemingly a well-timed little bit of cross-promotion – WWE followers know the corporate won’t ever draw back from an opportunity at co-marketing synergy. The commentary famous the Sonya costume, and puffed up Ronda’s look within the game as effectively.

Rousey made an on-stage look on the preliminary MK11 reveal, although on the time she was the one WWE star there who didn’t present up in costume – fellow wrestlers Xavier Woods, Kofi Kingston, and Zelina Vega showed up as Shao Khan, Shang Tsung, and Jade. Vega took the preventing game spirit to the ring earlier this yr, when she entered the Royal Rumble sporting the masks of Street Fighter’s Vega. (No obvious advertising and marketing offers on that one.)

What I’m saying is that wrestlers are all nerds now. Did you miss that WWE League of Legends stream?

In addition to the fast clip of the match above – hey, WWE nonetheless needs you to pay for that pay-per-view – Rousey put up some extra photographs on her Instagram.

Sonya – however undoubtedly not Shaggy – might be there after we pay money for Mortal Kombat 11 on April 23. I stay up for the inevitable Wrestlemania spot the place Ronda – unsure of her probabilities towards Becky Lynch and/or Charlotte – challenges everybody to an MK11 event.
