Actor Robert Pattinson has opened up about the highly anticipated follow-up to his blockbuster comic book adaptation, “The Batman.”

According to the star, the upcoming sequel will offer a strikingly different experience compared to its predecessor.

Matt [Reeves] has penned an incredible script. Reimagining Batman from a fresh perspective is no small feat. Yet, to then pivot in an entirely different direction… Even as I review the dailies, the shift from the first film is palpable. It’s genuinely impressive. The screenplay has undergone some quite radical transformations. It is refreshing to see Warner Bros. and DC fully backing such a bold vision; it’s honestly wild. I believe Matt is the only filmmaker capable of pulling this off, as it is a truly avant-garde adaptation. I’m confident audiences will embrace it,

— Pattinson remarked during an interview with MyMovies.

The sequel is slated for an international theatrical release on February 18, 2028. The star-studded ensemble includes Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Colin Farrell, Andy Serkis, and others, though specific plot details remain under wraps.

The original “The Batman” premiered in March 2022, grossing an impressive $772 million globally. Pattinson is set to appear soon in A24’s thriller “Primetime” and Denis Villeneuve’s concluding chapter of “Dune.” His recent 2026 credits include “Die, My Love!” and “The Odyssey.”
