Throughout the 2010s, the Metroidvania style was reinvigorated with hit indie games like Hollow Knight, Ori & The Blind Forest, Dust: An Elysian Tail, and Axiom Verge; and within the latter years of the last decade, it appeared that indie game builders aimed to do the identical factor for romance-based experiences.
