Retailer discounts Marvel’s Wolverine two weeks after release
Gamers who held off on buying Marvel’s Wolverine can now add it to their collections at a lower price.
Marvel’s Wolverine was released in mid-September. Insomniac Games’ new title faced a wave of criticism even during its trailer rollout, with players mocking the gameplay mechanics, quick-time event system, and design choices such as a bright “scent trail” effect, which was subsequently toned down in a post-launch patch.
GermanStrands recently brought it to the community’s attention that a European retailer discounted Marvel’s Wolverine just two weeks after launch:
At MediaMarkt Germany, Wolverine is selling for 45 euros. Honestly, at that price, it’s an obvious buy in my opinion. You should also check your local stores, as they might have a similar deal running.

Some players linked the discount to the quality of Marvel’s Wolverine. They believe the game is selling poorly, which is why retailers are trying to clear out physical discs quickly from its standard 80 euro price point. II_JumPeR_I stated that he will not buy it and will instead “wait until it appears in the PlayStation Plus subscription.”
GunHetzer35958 commented: “Another attempt to get rid of a game that isn’t selling and pad the sales numbers for the publisher.”
Chronos_84 noted that he visits MediaMarkt “every weekend” and copies of the game are “gathering dust on the shelves” there.
Meanwhile, tech enthusiasts are attempting to run Marvel’s Wolverine on PC using an emulator. There has been some success, with players even reaching actual gameplay, though performance remains a critical issue for now.
