Data from a Blizzard employee’s LinkedIn profile indicates that work on Diablo V may have started as early as September 2023 or March 2024.

Diablo V may have been in development for about three years, with Blizzard starting work on the game shortly after the release of Diablo IV, according to the profile data of one of its employees.

The new installment in the series will tell a story set 100 years after Diablo IV. The heroes lost, Sanctuary has fallen, and Diablo emerged victorious. The release is scheduled for the spring of 2029.

Information in a Blizzard employee’s LinkedIn profile indicates that work related to Diablo V could have started as early as September 2023 or no later than March 2024. If the data truly refers to the game, its development has been ongoing for approximately two and a half to three years.

This does not mean that Diablo V was in full production the entire time, as the early phase may have included conceptualization, technology creation, and prototyping. Blizzard officially confirms only the development of the game and its release in the spring of 2029.
