‘Ready or Not’ Star to Join New ‘X-Men’ Movie
Australian actress Samara Weaving, best known for her role in Ready or Not, has been cast as Emma Frost in Marvel Studios’ upcoming X-Men reboot, as reported by Deadline.
The project will be helmed by director Jake Schreier, who also directed Thunderbolts. Emma Frost, a character first introduced in the 1980s comics, is a powerful telepath who began as a villain before transitioning into a key member of the X-Men. The character was previously portrayed on screen by January Jones in 2011’s X-Men: First Class.
Casting details for the remaining roles have yet to be disclosed. However, Obsession star Inde Navarrette has expressed strong interest in playing the mutant Mystique and has already held discussions regarding the part with Schreier. The new X-Men film is currently slated for a theatrical release no earlier than 2028.
