Ready or Not: Boiling Point Update v1.4.1 Changelog

Attention, Officers,

The moral decay of Los Sueños has reached a breaking point. An extremist terror strike has shattered the remaining public trust in a city government that is as ineffective as it is militarized.

We are proud to announce the launch of RoN v1.4: Boiling Point. This base game update is free for all players and includes over 200 technical refinements, three new firearms, the 9-bang tactical grenade, an overhauled multi-rail attachment system, fresh customization options, and various quality-of-life enhancements.

Simultaneously, we are launching the Boiling Point DLC, our third major expansion. You can explore the new content on the official store page. We are also pleased to confirm that this DLC is automatically available at no extra cost to all Supporter Edition owners.

To clarify how the new content is distributed:

  • Weapons: Available to the entire community for free.
  • DLC Maps: Playable for free in multiplayer as long as the lobby host owns the expansion.
  • DLC Cosmetics: Exclusive to owners of the Boiling Point DLC.

Launch Day FAQ

  1. Why did my PC mods break with this update?

Major updates often overhaul the game’s foundational codebase to implement fixes or new features. If a mod relies on outdated code that has been replaced, it will require an update from the mod creator to remain compatible.
  2. Why is the download size so large compared to the final storage footprint?

Platforms like Steam often update games by overwriting existing files. While an update might require a 6GB download, it may only increase the game’s total size by 1GB, as the remaining 5GB simply replaces older data.
  3. Why is the installation taking a long time despite my fast internet?

During a patch, your hardware (HDD or SSD) performs integrity checks to verify file consistency. This local processing time is often mistaken for a slow download.
  4. Why hasn’t the update appeared on my console yet?

Consoles may not always trigger automatic updates. Ensure you are connected to the internet and check your game library to initiate the download manually.
