Filmmaker Quentin Tarantino has joined the cast of the independent drama Only What We Carry, Deadline reports.
For the Pulp Fiction auteur, this represents his most significant acting role since From Dusk Till Dawn. The film also features Simon Pegg, Sofia Boutella and Charlotte Gainsbourg. It is directed by Jamie Adams.
The story centers on instructor Julian (Pegg), whose student Charlotte (Boutella) unexpectedly returns to his hometown. Tarantino will portray John Percy, a friend of Julian whose sudden arrival likewise brings hidden secrets to light. Insiders say the picture evokes the work of French director Éric Rohmer.
Production has already wrapped in Normandy. Tarantino recently penned The Adventures of Cliff Booth, the proposed sequel to Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood. There is still no word about the director’s tenth — and purportedly final — film.
