Tensions are rising at Quantic Dream. Employees have launched a strike to protest working conditions and management practices. Staff claim the action aims to highlight issues threatening the completion of Star Wars Eclipse.
The labor representatives report growing organizational challenges, a lack of communication from leadership, heavy workloads, staff turnover, and questionable management decisions. Workers believe better conditions are necessary to finish the studio’s biggest project. They adopted the slogan: Strike to save Star Wars Eclipse.
The poor reception of the multiplayer game Spellcasters Chronicles added pressure to the studio. Approximately 115 employees are currently participating in the strike.
Quantic Dream management claims work on Star Wars Eclipse continues and downplays the impact of the protest on production. The studio announced the game in 2021, and reports of delays and development hurdles have surfaced frequently since then.
NetEase Games currently owns Quantic Dream.
