Pushed His Luck: Police Arrive at ARC Raiders Fan After Cries for Help
The player received a different kind of support than he had expected.
In ARC Raiders, players can talk to each other using voice chat. A recent fan got so loud that it alarmed people staying nearby.
YoMopho checked into a motel and fired up ARC Raiders on his PlayStation 5. What began as an intense gaming session ended with the police showing up.
I was in my motel room in the evening [playing on PS5] when, about 15 minutes ago, someone started banging on the door yelling, “Police! Open up!!!”. I looked through the peephole and saw nothing, so I latched the chain and asked for a warrant. The officer said they were doing a welfare check because someone reported that someone had been shot in my room.
Shortly before the police arrived, YoMopho was playing on the Blue Gate map and was shouting loudly after picking up valuable loot, but a robot shot him near the evacuation point:
On my way back to the evac point I got ambushed by a rocket trooper because I was rushing. I screamed: “Help! I’m going to die! I’ve been shot, please revive me!!!” There was a player at the evac point — I saw him and he seemed like he wanted to help, but the rocket guy was too close and too dangerous, so he ran. I couldn’t reach the evac and I died. I shouted again… Apparently someone called the police at that moment.
