The film Predator: Wastelands will debut in U.S. theaters with a PG-13 rating (children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult).
A similar classification was assigned to 2004’s Alien vs. Predator. According to Wastelands producer Ben Rosenblatt, the PG-13 rating will help the picture “reach a wider audience”:
“There are no humans in the movie, so there’s no human blood. We hope that works to our advantage. We’ll do everything we can […] to create something truly terrifying. But not in red.”
Wastelands follows an android (Elle Fanning) and a Predator as they confront a common adversary. The film is directed by Dan Trachtenberg (director of Prey). It opens internationally on November 7.
