“Practical Magic 2” Box Office Fails to Meet Expectations
“Practical Magic 2” debuted in the global box office with a total of $46 million. The domestic market served as the primary contributor, with the romantic fantasy sequel—starring Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman—garnering $30 million during its opening weekend. Given the iconic stature of its predecessor, this performance is considered quite underwhelming.
The film secured an additional $16 million from international territories. While “Practical Magic 2” garnered notable attention in several key markets, it struggled to leverage the nostalgia surrounding the original 1998 classic into a blockbuster launch. With a production budget of $75 million, these opening figures are lackluster, and it is unlikely that the film will experience a significant surge in revenue moving forward.
In this installment, Sally and Gillian Owens are once again pulled into a supernatural conflict. Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman have reprised their roles, with Susanna White directing the project. The screenplay was penned by Akiva Goldsman and Georgia Pritchett.
