Post Malone Honors Marshawn Kneeland During Cowboys’ Thanksgiving Halftime
November 27, 2025

During the Dallas Cowboys’ Thanksgiving home game on November 27, 2025, Post Malone used his halftime set to pay tribute to Marshawn Kneeland, the Cowboys defensive end who recently passed away.
Near the close of his three-song medley, Malone addressed the crowd and dedicated the performance to the late player, saying, “We love you, 94.” He also wore a No. 94 pin on his blue-and-white satin jacket as a visible sign of respect.
Kneeland, 24, died earlier in November; authorities are investigating his death as an apparent suicide. A former Western Michigan standout, he earned second-team All-MAC honors in 2023 and was selected by the Cowboys in the second round of the 2024 NFL Draft.
For Malone — born Austin Post and raised in Grapevine, Texas — the halftime slot was something of a homecoming. His father, Rich Post, worked in the stadium’s food-and-beverage department from 2005 to 2019. Malone called performing at the Red Kettle Kickoff “an honor” and noted his longtime connection to the Cowboys halftime tradition in a statement published on the team’s official site. Malone’s brief set included “Wrong Ones,” “Wow” and “I Had Some Help.” The Cowboys edged the Kansas City Chiefs 31–28 that night.
Malone has frequently performed at NFL events — recent appearances include holiday shows for the Baltimore Ravens and Houston Texans, a pregame rendition of “America the Beautiful” ahead of the 2024 Super Bowl, and headlining the Super Bowl 59 YouTube tailgate concert.
