Phil Spencer Forgot About the Nintendo Switch 2 — Where Are the Promised Xbox Games?

Despite bold statements from Microsoft and Nintendo about working together, Switch 2 has yet to receive Xbox titles during a period when the industry is especially active. Former Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils‑Aimé has openly expressed his puzzlement.

He reminded listeners that Phil Spencer said back in April that Nintendo’s new console would be “an important part of Xbox’s strategy.” So far, however, the reality doesn’t match those words.

To date, only Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4 has appeared on Switch 2, with Indiana Jones and the Great Circle scheduled next. For the holiday season and Black Friday shopping, that’s clearly a light slate.

Fils‑Aimé thinks this moment would have been perfect for splashy reveals — Halo, Gears of War, or Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, for example — that could capture gamers’ attention. He called the situation disappointing, particularly after Microsoft’s repeated assurances of collaboration.

“Some of these titles could easily be ported to Switch 2,” he told The Game Business. He added that the console’s performance should be sufficient to run major AAA projects.

Despite talk of the end of the “console wars,” the lack of a tangible partnership between Microsoft and Nintendo once again risks fragmenting the market.
