Between broadcast segments of the anime, viewers will be shown an original episode from Maomao’s life that does not appear in the manga or light novels.

The Pharmacist’s Monologue franchise is set to hit cinemas. A full-length feature inspired by the series will debut in Japanese theaters in December 2026.

What sets this project apart is that it’s an entirely original tale written by the novels’ author, Natsu Hyuga. The announcement was made during a livestream commemorating the anime’s second anniversary.

The story takes place between the second and third seasons. The screenplay is not adapted from published chapters but was created specifically for the film. According to producers at TOHO Animation, the goal is to place Maomao in a new circumstance and expand the world without rehashing the main storyline.

The film’s Japanese release is scheduled for December 2026, with international distribution and streaming expected in 2027.

As a reminder, the third season is split into two cours: the first premieres in October 2026 and the second in April 2027. Consequently, the feature will be released during the break between the two halves of season three.
