Peace in Our Time: Art, Achievements, and Miscellaneous Content

Commanders, welcome to our final developer diary!

In today’s concluding look at the upcoming DLC, we are diving into the shared mechanics that bridge our various focus paths. Furthermore, we’ll be showcasing the stunning new artwork and assets arriving with this expansion.

Army Readiness

The final mechanic we’re unveiling is the Army Readiness Balance of Power, which triggers shortly after the game begins. While the Czechoslovak military was well-prepared to confront the 1938 Sudetenland crisis, internal political pressures ahead of the Munich Conference threatened to undermine that stability—a struggle now captured by this new balance system.

Weapon Exports

Given the importance of arms production to the Czechoslovak economy, we’ve integrated several focuses that impact weapon sales, tailored specifically for those who own the Arms Against Tyranny expansion.

Owners of Arms Against Tyranny will find unique focuses and decisions that influence AI nations to source equipment from your industry. For those without the DLC, we’ve introduced a streamlined arms trading system, ensuring everyone can capitalize on global military demand.

Expanding Beyond Czechoslovakia

While the focus is on Czechoslovakia, we are including additional content for neighboring nations to flesh out the era’s geopolitical landscape.

Because the Czech industrial base was vital to the Third Reich’s war effort, Germany now features a specific focus to integrate these manufacturers. We have also added a German “Special Project” modeled after the Rӧchling shell, complete with new Artillery technology.

Piercing bonus

Increased armor penetration is always a welcome advantage.

Additionally, we have implemented the “Little War” (the Slovak–Hungarian War). While complex, players controlling Hungary can now initiate border conflicts with Slovakia under historical conditions, offering a nod to this often-overlooked pre-WWII event.

Finally, we are adding universal Train-based Military Industrial Organizations (MIOs) for all starting majors, excluding Japan. Whether you have the DLC or not, these are free for all players—because, quite frankly, we love trains.

Aesthetic Enhancements

We’ve partnered with the talented team at Rocketbrush to bring you authentic portraits and 3D models of legendary landmarks, including the Prague and Bojnice Castles, ensuring every leader and soldier looks the part.

Music and Achievements

Your ears are in for a treat with two brand new tracks, including a special arrangement of Škoda lásky (Rosamunde) and an original composition created exclusively for this expansion.

New Achievements incoming:

  • I’m playing both sides: Sell weapons to both participants in a civil war.
  • I didn’t hear no bell: As a democratic Czechoslovakia, lose the Sudetenland, grant Slovakia autonomy, and eventually capitulate Germany.
  • Premyslid’s Dream: Integrate Austria and former Bohemian lands as a monarchist nation.
  • Kuťáci: Construct every facility type.
  • First train home: Secure any state along the Trans-Siberian Railway.
