Patch 13.0: The Purgation Update

The Purgation Update is officially live! Below are the comprehensive patch notes, featuring exclusive insights and commentary from our Game Director, Dmitry Grigorenko.

CORE ADDITIONS
  • New Operation: Purgation

Combat Squad Veridian is tasked with securing a Mechanicus installation deep within the Kadaku swamps. With communications severed and Nozick’s research still on-site, the mission is critical.

  • Battle Simulator

Master your craft in our new, fully customizable training arena. Test various enemy encounters, experiment with loadouts, and refine your equipment strategies in a controlled environment.

  • Dynamic Loadouts & Perk Swapping

Adapt on the fly: you can now switch both your perk loadouts and weaponry during a session. Remember, perk loadouts are linked to your weapon configuration, so prepare your gear accordingly.

  • Wargear 2.0

Unlock deeper personalization with our expanded customization system. Classes can now equip multiple wargear items simultaneously, including iron halos, capes, and sensor arrays.

“We remain committed to evolving our customization suite. Next, we’ll be introducing robes and tabards to the shared wargear pool. As with this update, these rewards must be earned through play. Keep an eye out for more unique items on the horizon.”

Known Issues (Targeted for upcoming hotfix):

  • Iron Halos currently lack customization options when specific backpacks are equipped on Tactical & Bulwark classes.
  • Storm Shields cannot be customized while a Bulwark has an Iron Halo equipped.
  • Wargear options are temporarily unavailable when using an Armour Set Template.
  • Siege 2.0 Overhaul

Siege Mode receives a massive expansion, introducing new shop inventory, fresh bosses, additional mission objectives, and a revolutionary Blessings and Atonements system.

  • Trials of Resolve

Engage in demanding new Ordeals, each offering distinct, high-tier rewards.

  • New Armament: Bolt Carbine (One-Handed)

A versatile new secondary weapon available to Assault and Bulwark classes.

“A more substantial secondary weapon is currently in development—stay tuned 😜”

  • New PvE Gear: Pyreblaster Canister

A tactical incendiary device. Deploy it strategically, then detonate it with precise gunfire.

  • Heroic Armory

Three new Heroic weapons can now be unlocked via Accolades:

    • Plasma Pistol: Relic Battle-Worn
    • Chainsword: White Scars Edition (Block)
    • Power Axe: Encarmine Axe (Block)

  • Season Pass Expansion: Iron Hands Chapter Pack
    • Techmarine Champion + Signature Omnissian Axe Skin
    • Full Greave, Gauntlet, and Pauldron sets with exclusive Decals
    • 4 Successor Chapters

COMBAT & BALANCE
PvE Ranged Combat
  • Bolter weapons: Non-headshot damage increased by ~30%.

“We are bridging the damage gap between body shots and headshots. By restructuring how damage regions work, we’ve standardized the Time-To-Kill (TTK) across enemies. Headshot efficiency remains consistent, but body shots are now significantly more impactful.”

  • The global headshot modifier has been stripped from Majoris and Extremis threats, with adjustments made for Terminus enemies.
  • Headshot bonuses are now tied to weapon statistics rather than enemy hitboxes.
  • Bolter weapon headshot bonuses have been buffed to maintain effectiveness.
  • Note: Gunstrike damage for secondary weapons is currently inconsistent following this rebalance; this will be rectified in the next hotfix.

“Regarding contested health: this feature is still coming. It’s a complex technical undertaking that requires rigorous playtesting, and we wanted to ensure it’s fully polished before release.”

Weapon Tuning:

  • Neo Volkite Pistol: Heat buildup increased by ~16%; Contested health recovery boosted by 18%.
  • Plasma Pistol: Standard shot damage increased by ~30%. Cooling-speed variants now feature higher ammo capacity; default variants are now optimized for raw damage.
  • Plasma Incinerator: Standard shot damage increased by ~40%; charged shots receive a 10% damage boost.
  • Burning Status: Terminus enemies now take 20% less damage over time from fire, regardless of difficulty.
PvE Melee
  • Power Axe: Resolved issues with the “Power Wave” perk; increased the target limit for “Power Backstep”; corrected the description for the “Restoration” perk (cooldown is 15s).
  • Power Sword: Attack speed slightly increased across all variants.
  • Argent Edge (Combat Knife): Perk description updated for clarity.
Class Perks

“Our current focus is expanding our sandbox ‘toys’—such as status effects—before we execute major perk overhauls. Once we introduce more ways to interact with the environment, we will begin rebalancing perks to ensure greater build variety. Priorities include refining the Tactical class’s melee capabilities, making the Vanguard’s ability more versatile, and giving the Heavy class more playstyle-defining perks.”

Specific Perk Buffs:

  • Techmarine: “Methodical Destruction” now procs from Sanctified Wrath Reliquary; “Explosives Adept” damage bonus increased (35% to 50%); “Reinforced Position” buffs improved.
  • Heavy: “Coolant Reserve” damage bonus increased (15% to 50%).

SIEGE MODE UPDATES

Requisition Terminal Expansions: New items include the Tarantula Sentry Gun, Tech-priest, Minefield, Disciplined Reinforcements, and Explosive Resupply.

Blessings & Atonements: Every five waves, players will unlock a permanent Shrine Blessing while enduring randomized Atonements.

Difficulty Adjustments: Bosses like the Hive Tyrant and Vortex Beast now appear on specific waves. Combat intensity and difficulty scaling have been tightened for a more aggressive, fast-paced experience.

Siege Timer: Instead of immediate mission failure, the timer now accelerates enemy strength.

Weekly Accolades: Earn up to 450 Accolades weekly by completing wave challenges on Normal and Hard difficulties.

QUALITY OF LIFE & CUSTOMIZATION

Added an invulnerability window following finisher animations and improved VFX for burning incapacitated enemies. Massive influx of new color palettes for lenses, armor, and cloth, along with new decal patterns and individualized pauldron designs. Various minor geometry and localization fixes have been implemented throughout the experience.

TECHNICAL & STABILITY

General stability, crash resolutions, memory optimization, and connectivity improvements have been applied to ensure a smoother deployment.
