Owlcat Releases RPG “Rue Valley” — “Disco Elysium” Creator Robert Kurvitz Advised Developers
Players are beginning to immerse themselves in an adventure shaped by a time loop.
Owlcat Games — known for cRPGs like Pathfinder and Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader — also operates a publishing arm. It has recently released a narrative-driven RPG.
Rue Valley was developed by Emotion Spark Studio. The team invites players to step into the shoes of a character trapped in a time loop, who must confront their psychological wounds and unravel the mystery of what occurred:
Attempt to break free from the mysterious time loop! Venture into the shadowed depths of your psyche and probe the most secluded corners of the soul. Uncover the secrets kept by this forgotten, godforsaken town. Each new day brings another confrontation with inner demons. As you piece together the events, you’ll encounter others wrestling with their own painful experiences — and may learn their most guarded secrets.
Disco Elysium creators Robert Kurvitz, Aleksander Rostov, and Helen Hindpere were previously able to review Rue Valley and offered guidance to the development team.
Early Steam reviews are labeled “Positive”, with a 92% approval rating.
