It seems Olivia Rodrigo turned a bout of late-night insomnia into a creative endeavor, surprising fans with not just one, but two distinct music videos for her latest track, “Drop Dead.”

Following the debut of the official music video for her single, You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love—a cinematic romp through the opulent Palace of Versailles—Rodrigo unveiled an intimate, alternate visual on Monday, April 20. Exclusively available via Spotify, this version, titled “taken that Eurostar to France,” offers a more candid look at the pop sensation. The footage captures Rodrigo enjoying a pint in a cozy London pub, documenting her wanderings through the city’s historic streets, and eventually catching a train with her guitar case in tow.

The journey culminates in the City of Love, with the Grammy-winning artist performing against the iconic backdrop of the Eiffel Tower and the Arc de Triomphe. The track’s lyrics take on a new resonance in these settings as she sings, “One night, I was bored in bed / And stalked you on the internet / It’s feminine intuition / ‘Cause I always had a vision of us standing like this.”

“Drop Dead” arrived on April 17, marking the beginning of the highly anticipated era for Rodrigo’s third studio album, which is scheduled for a June release. This project follows her massively successful 2023 effort, Guts, which soared to the top of the Billboard 200.

This strategic rollout of an alternate visual comes on the heels of YouTube’s decision to remove its data from Billboard’s chart calculations. Consequently, streaming numbers from the platform will no longer influence the Billboard Hot 100 standing for “Drop Dead.” Throughout her meteoric career, Rodrigo has secured 30 entries on the Hot 100, including chart-topping anthems like “Drivers License,” “Good 4 U,” and “Vampire.”

Experience the “taken that Eurostar to France” version of “Drop Dead” exclusively on Spotify.
