Next spring, Mario and Luigi will return to the big screen in a brand-new adventure inspired by Super Mario Galaxy.
Nintendo has released the first trailer for the animated feature The Super Mario Galaxy Movie — a direct sequel to The Super Mario Bros. Movie, which grossed more than $1.3 billion worldwide. The new installment broadens the scope of the iconic duo’s exploits, launching audiences beyond the Mushroom Kingdom and into space, where Mario and Luigi will encounter fresh challenges.
Directors Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic have once again led the project, with a screenplay by Matt Vogel, who contributed to the original film. Returning to their roles are Chris Pratt (Mario), Charlie Day (Luigi), Anya Taylor-Joy (Princess Peach), Jack Black (Bowser), Keegan-Michael Key (Toad), and Kevin Michael Richardson (Kamek). The sequel also introduces Rosalina (Brie Larson) and Bowser Jr. (Benny Safdie).
The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is scheduled to premiere on April 3, 2026 in the United States and on April 24, 2026 in Japan.
