Nihon Falcom Posts Record Profit in 2025 and Prepares Global Projects

Japanese developer Nihon Falcom reported full-year 2025 results showing increases across all key metrics. The studio, best known for the Kiseki (Trails) and Ys franchises, attributed the gains to consistent sales in Japan and overseas, several major releases, and expansion into new markets.

For fiscal 2025, revenue climbed 3.5% to ¥2,612 million (~$17.8 million), operating profit rose 8.1% to ¥1,340 million (~$9.1 million), ordinary profit increased 9.7% to ¥1,364 million (~$9.3 million), and net income grew 6.0% to ¥903 million (~$6.2 million), underscoring the company’s solid financial footing.

Falcom shipped several headline projects, including The Legend of Heroes: Kai no Kiseki – Farewell, O Zemuria (PS5/PS4), Ys Memoire: The Oath in Felghana (Switch), Ys X – Proud NORDICS (Switch 2), and Sora no Kiseki the 1st (PS5, Switch, Switch 2, Steam). Enhanced editions of Ys VIII, Ys IX and multiple entries in the Trails of Cold Steel series were also released for PS5.

Looking ahead to fiscal 2026, the company projects a slight pullback: revenue around ¥2,600 million (~$17.7 million), operating profit about ¥1,300 million (~$8.9 million), and net income near ¥900 million (~$6.1 million). Ongoing development includes Sora no Kiseki the 2nd, additional ports of Ys X – Proud NORDICS, international releases of existing titles, and new original IPs.
