NewJeans Members to Return to ADOR After Court Loss, Citing “Thoughtful Consideration”

Following a recent court decision, members of the K‑pop group NewJeans have elected to continue their careers under ADOR, the HYBE subsidiary that manages the band. ADOR confirmed the development in a statement issued on Wednesday, November 12, 2025.

The company said that Haerin and Hyein — after thoughtful conversations with their families and careful deliberation — have chosen to abide by the court’s ruling and remain under their exclusive contracts with ADOR. The label pledged to fully support the two artists as they resume scheduled activities.

ADOR also appealed to fans for understanding and asked the public to avoid spreading unverified speculation about the members as plans move forward.

Multiple outlets report that the other three members — Minji, Hanni and Danielle — have likewise agreed to continue working with the label. Representatives for HYBE were contacted for comment.

The turn of events follows a dispute that began last year, when the members announced their intention to leave ADOR and pursue independent music after alleging the company’s dismissal of their longtime mentor, former CEO Min Hee‑jin, breached their contract. In October 2025, a Korean court ruled that the termination of Min did not constitute sufficient grounds to nullify the group’s agreements; the court’s decision bars independent activities through 2029.

ADOR said the judgment, reached after careful review of the claims and evidence, offers an opportunity for the artists to reflect and for the company and talent to discuss future plans.

The label added that it has already prepared for the group’s return — including plans for a studio album — and said it will continue discussions with the artists to determine the best way to reconnect with fans.

Since debuting in 2022, NewJeans has released several singles and two EPs, including their second EP, Get Up, which reached No. 1 on the Billboard 200. The group has also placed multiple tracks on the Billboard Hot 100.

Earlier in 2025 the five members briefly released music and performed under the name “NJZ.” ADOR secured a preliminary injunction that halted those activities, and in June 2025 the court ordered fines of approximately $734,000 per member for conducting unauthorized promotions.

As conversations continue between the artists and ADOR, the label emphasized its intention to provide a stable environment for NewJeans’ creative work and to plan a deliberate return to public performances and releases.
