New Unreal Engine 5 Demo Shows Potential Visuals for The Witcher 4
Digital Dreams has updated CD Projekt RED’s Unreal Engine 5 tech demo, improving the lighting, vegetation, and detail of the village to show how close to photorealism The Witcher 4 could look.
The Witcher 4 is being built on Unreal Engine 5, and CD Projekt RED has already demonstrated the capabilities of the technology in a special demo. The creators at Digital Dreams decided to test whether the upcoming game could approach photorealism by upgrading the graphics of the village demonstration scene.
They reworked the lighting, vegetation, materials, environment detail, and surfaces. As a result, the scene looks even more realistic.
Digital Dreams is comparing the result to The Witcher 4 for a reason, but a tech demo and a full-scale RPG with a massive world, characters, a combat system, and dozens of mechanics have different objectives.
It is still difficult to imagine what The Witcher 4 will turn out to be like. CD Projekt RED still has to optimize Unreal Engine 5 for the game. Fans will have to wait for the project to be shown.
