During the most recent Xbox Partner Showcase, Weappy Studio—the creative force behind This is the Police and Rebel Cops—unveiled a captivating new trailer for their upcoming 2D platformer, The Eternal Life of Goldman. In a major update for subscribers, it was also confirmed that the title will be a day-one addition to the Xbox Game Pass catalog upon launch.
The game follows the journey of Goldman, a cane-wielding protagonist of advanced years who ventures into a surreal collection of islands known as the Archipelago. His objective is as grand as it is dangerous: to track down and slay a legendary entity called the Deity. With a visual style that serves as a vibrant homage to 20th-century hand-drawn animation and European myths, the game blends nostalgic aesthetics with precise gameplay mechanics. Much like the iconic pogo mechanics found in DuckTales, Goldman utilizes his multipurpose cane to bounce across hazards and dispatch enemies. Furthermore, the cane can be upgraded and modified, allowing players to tailor their platforming style and utility to the challenges ahead.
