New Painkiller — Surprisingly Short: The Entire Adventure Can Be Completed in One Evening
The game has launched, and early players have plunged into brutal clashes across the bleak vistas of Purgatory. Yet the experience proves markedly shorter than many expected.
Gameplay walkthroughs have begun circulating online. YouTube clips suggest the main campaign runs only about 3.5–4 hours — a letdown for those hoping for a sprawling story.
Still, the title preserves its defining traits: bloody melee, lightning-fast movement, and battles against hordes of demons. Four characters are available — Ink, Void, Sol, and Roch — each able to develop abilities through tarot cards and weapon upgrades. Players can explore Purgatory, topple bosses, and uncover secrets in co-op for up to three participants.
A version that includes a season pass with three DLCs is also offered.
