New Horizon Game to Be Called “Horizon Steel Frontiers” — Sony and NCSoft Are Working on It
This is an MMORPG designed for mobile platforms; Steel Frontiers will also be coming to PC.
Rumors of a multiplayer online title set in Sony’s post‑apocalyptic Horizon universe have been confirmed. The Verge obtained a 10‑minute video featuring cinematic trailers, pre‑alpha gameplay, and interviews with the developers.
The game will be titled Horizon: Steel Frontiers. The project is a joint effort between Sony and South Korea’s NCSoft, the studio behind Lineage and Guild Wars. Marketed as a full‑scale MMORPG, Steel Frontiers is being developed primarily for iOS and Android devices, with a PC version planned as well.
While Steel Frontiers will include PvP features, its core focus appears to be cooperative hunts against mechanized dinosaurs.
NCSoft and Sony have not commented on the leak. A release window for Horizon: Steel Frontiers has not yet been announced.
