New Chinese slasher Phantom Blade Zero hits 1 million wishlists

Developer S-Game has announced that the action-packed Phantom Blade Zero achieved a major milestone, being wishlisted over one million times within just 15 days of its store pages opening on December 12, 2025.

The game meticulously crafts a fictional universe rooted in Chinese Wuxia lore. However, Director Liang emphasized that the project is a global cultural fusion, heavily influenced by his American education and a lifelong appreciation for Japanese anime. This synergy gave birth to a distinct “KungfuPunk” aesthetic tailored for an international audience.

Its creative foundations are built upon classic Wuxia novels, iconic Hong Kong cinema from the ’70s through the ’90s, and legendary manga series such as Vagabond, Berserk, and Claymore. Additionally, players will recognize mechanical DNA from acclaimed titles like Ninja Gaiden, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, and Nioh.

Phantom Blade Zero will feature deep character development, adrenaline-pumping boss encounters, and hidden dungeon challenges. Reflecting on the production philosophy, Liang noted:

“We remain dedicated to a traditional design philosophy, steering clear of automated, mass-produced content.”

The game is set to launch on PlayStation 5 and PC (via Steam and Epic Games Store) on September 9, 2026.
