Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc will arrive in U.S. cinemas sooner than previously announced: Sony and Crunchyroll confirmed the film now opens on October 24, 2025, moved up from the originally scheduled October 29, 2025. Alongside the date change they’ve released a new English-dub trailer showcasing the movie’s visuals.
The feature picks up immediately after the events of the anime’s first season. It tracks Denji as he becomes entangled with Reze, a charismatic barista hiding dangerous secrets. Torn between his growing attachment to her and his past loyalty to Makima, Denji must sort out fraught emotions while confronting a lethal new adversary — the Bomb Devil. The new footage highlights striking animation and cinematography, culminating in a dramatic confrontation.
Image: SonyCrunchyroll also published a second trailer that doubles as a brief recap for newcomers. It reintroduces Denji — once a desperate Devil Hunter crushed by debt and betrayed by the yakuza — who survives by merging with his loyal devil, Pochita, becoming the lethal Chainsaw Man. That trailer sets up the Reze arc’s collision of romance and violence, where affection and survival become dangerously intertwined.
The film is produced by MAPPA and is directed by Tatsuya Yoshihara, who previously contributed as a key animator and episode director on the series. Returning creative personnel include screenwriter Hiroshi Seko, character designer Kazutaka Sugiyama, and composer Kensuke Ushio, all of whom helped shape the original anime’s tone.
Release update: Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc opens in U.S. theaters on October 24, 2025.
