Country music superstar Morgan Wallen gave fans an exciting sneak peek this past Saturday (July 18), officially announcing the title and upcoming release of his latest single, “Been By Now.”

Wallen debuted the track live for the first time during his performance at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore, Maryland. Concert attendees captured the moment on video, quickly spreading the news that the studio version of the song is slated for release this coming Friday, July 24. The singer is currently trekking across the country on his highly successful Still the Problem tour, with upcoming stops in Ann Arbor and Philadelphia.

Following the show, Wallen shared a 40-second teaser of the track on his social media channels to build anticipation for the drop.

The lyrics of the midtempo ballad strike a melancholic chord, focusing on a relationship that has stalled despite its initial promise. Wallen croons, “If it was meant to be, we’d have been by now/ We wouldn’t have to keep trying to work things out,” later admitting that the pair still shares a seamless connection “when the lights go down.”

“Been By Now” follows the success of his recent duet with Ella Langley, “I Can’t Love You Anymore,” and his chart-dominating 2025 album, I’m the Problem. The album has been a historic powerhouse, spending 13 weeks at the top of the Billboard 200 and currently maintaining a strong position in the top 10. Notably, the record has held the No. 1 spot on the Top Country Albums chart for 45 nonconsecutive weeks, cementing Wallen’s status as a record-breaker in the genre.

While fans are eagerly awaiting news of a potential full-length studio follow-up, Wallen has yet to confirm any details regarding his next album. In the meantime, listeners can pre-save “Been By Now” on major streaming platforms ahead of its July 24 release.
