Monster Hunter Wilds Ascendance Nintendo Switch 2 Release Date December 4

Capcom is officially bringing Monster Hunter Wilds to the Nintendo Switch 2 this coming December. Unveiled during a recent Nintendo Direct showcase, the acclaimed 2025 action-RPG—which initially debuted on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC—is making its long-awaited transition to Nintendo’s next-generation hybrid hardware. Scheduled for release on December 4, this iteration arrives complete with every previously issued patch and content update.

Beyond the standalone launch, the Switch 2 version supports robust local multiplayer functionality, allowing hunters to team up seamlessly in person. Today’s announcement also offered our very first glimpse of the game operating directly on the system. Much like Capcom’s other impressive platform ports—including Resident Evil Requiem and Pragmata—Monster Hunter Wilds appears to run exceptionally well. Furthermore, the massive upcoming expansion, Ascendance, is officially slated to arrive on the Switch 2 next year.
