Mondo’s New Over the Garden Wall Collectibles Are Stunning and Expensive

Autumn has arrived, which means many viewers are carving out time for a seasonal rewatch of Over the Garden Wall. The 2014 Cartoon Network miniseries follows two brothers who wander into a strange wood and meet a parade of characters that range from whimsical to unsettling. To mark the series, pop-culture label Mondo has opened preorders for a new line of collectible figures inspired by the show.

The inaugural release spotlights Wirt and Greg in a Chapter 1 set priced at $95. Each figure offers multiple points of customization—interchangeable heads and arms—and Wirt’s cloak can be styled in three distinct ways. Greg’s accessories include his “candy camouflage” and his frequently renamed frog companion. A small Beatrice figure is included so the three can be displayed together. A Limited Edition variant adds The Dog from the opening episode to the package—though the Woodsman is not part of this drop—and will retail for $135 through Mondo’s shop.

Mondo describes these releases as the first chapter in a broader series of figures. Chapter 2 is slated to center on the Pottsfield Pumpkin People, and collectors are hopeful later waves will introduce characters such as the Woodsman, the Beast, Auntie Whispers, and others from the series’ eerie roster.

Mondo is also issuing a new pressing of the Over the Garden Wall original soundtrack in a “Potatoes & Molasses” colorway on burgundy vinyl. The LP is expected to retail for $35 and includes a 20-page booklet with lyrics and select sheet music. (See the soundtrack product listing for preorder information.)

If you haven’t experienced the miniseries yet, the first episode is currently available on YouTube, which can be a convenient place to start while titles rotate across streaming platforms. Fans should also seek out the stop-motion short released to commemorate the show’s tenth anniversary.
