Minecraft Source Code Leaked for PC, PlayStation, and More — Unreleased Game Versions Discovered

Following a significant leak of Minecraft’s source code, researchers have been diving deep into the “Legacy Console Edition,” uncovering a variety of fascinating hidden details.
For instance, developer MrLordSith managed to unearth remnants of an abandoned waterfall foam effect that Notch had once experimented with:
In addition to this visual find, MrLordSith restored the “floating islands” biome and identified code snippets that appear to be part of a C++ programming tutorial hidden within the files.
Furthermore, community members discovered SWF files suggesting the existence of a cancelled “Minecraft Windows Edition.”
Evidence implies that 4J Studios—the developer responsible for numerous console ports—was at one point developing a bespoke PC version, predating the eventual release of the “Windows 10 Edition.”
