Megan Moroney is finding herself in a state of pure bliss, and for good reason. After her latest project, Cloud 9, ascended to the summit of the Billboard 200, the country sensation shared her overwhelming excitement regarding her first career-defining chart-topper.

On Monday, March 2—the same day Billboard confirmed that Cloud 9 had surpassed J. Cole’s The Fall-Off to claim the No. 1 spot in the U.S.—Moroney expressed her joy in an official statement. “Not to be cliché, but I truly am on cloud nine!” she remarked.

Attributing her success to her loyal following, she added, “I have to give all the credit to my fans; they are the most incredible people in the world. Seeing them embrace this record so deeply is a dream realized. I’m counting down the days until we can experience these songs together on the ‘Cloud 9 Tour’!”

The celebration continued on social media, where Moroney shared a heartfelt gratitude post on Instagram. “CLOUD 9 IS NO. 1!!!?! THANK YOU SO MUCH,” she exclaimed to her followers. “You are the best fans in the world. Thank you for streaming, connecting, and caring about this music. I can’t wait to scream these lyrics with you all on the road!”

Released on February 20, Cloud 9 serves as the Georgia native’s third studio effort and features high-profile collaborations with Kacey Musgraves and Ed Sheeran. The album’s meteoric rise follows the steady momentum of her previous works, 2023’s Lucky and 2024’s Am I Okay?, which peaked at No. 38 and No. 9, respectively.

Moroney’s chart-topping achievement also marks a historic milestone for the genre. With Ella Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas” reclaiming the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 simultaneously, this marks the first time in history that two female country artists have concurrently led both flagship charts. Langley acknowledged the shared triumph on her Instagram Story, posting the news alongside emotional and celebratory emojis.

Looking ahead, Moroney is preparing for a massive international trek. The “Cloud 9 Tour” is set to launch in May and will span through early October, bringing her live show to arenas across the United States, Canada, and Europe.
