This highly anticipated DLC will guide drivers across the diverse landscapes of the Emerald Isle, ranging from high-energy urban hubs to tranquil coastal passages and verdant rolling hills. As with all our expansions, translating a new region into the ETS2 universe requires a collaborative effort from a passionate group of developers who meticulously craft every motorway, village, and historic landmark.

In this latest installment of “Meet the Team,” you will get to know some of the creative minds driving this project forward. Our featured developers have shared brief introductions and a glimpse into their current progress. We hope you enjoy this behind-the-scenes look at the people building your next favorite trucking destination.
Honza – Map DLC Lead

“Greetings. It has been six rewarding years since I joined the SCS family. My journey has seen me evolve from a junior map designer to a lead role, and it is a privilege to guide such a talented group. While we are currently finalizing the Benelux rework, my primary focus has shifted to our next major venture: the Isle of Ireland. This marks my first standard DLC project, which is incredibly thrilling. To me, Ireland is one of the most breathtaking regions in Europe, defined by its lush pastures, rugged Atlantic coastline, and vibrant, colorful towns. Interestingly, the lack of expansive highways allows for a more intimate driving experience, and we are working hard to capture that unique atmosphere. On a personal note, I share my life with my Polish wife, our new baby, and a rather high-strung dog. When I’m not working, I love relaxing with a cold beer and a classic cult horror movie.”
Eliška (foxxy) – Senior Map Designer

“Hi everyone, I’m Eliška. I transitioned from the film industry to map design nearly five years ago during the pandemic. It has been a fulfilling journey; I never imagined I would launch a brand-new career in my forties based on my lifelong passion for digital world-building. I am incredibly grateful to SCS for providing the mentorship that allowed me to grow into a senior specialist within such a supportive team. Of course, none of this would be possible without our amazing community of players. Thank you for your continued support.”
Kristián – Map Designer

“I have spent the last four years at SCS Software contributing to various map expansions, including the recent Benelux update where I focused on Rotterdam, Antwerp, and the Europoort district. My specialty lies in maritime infrastructure, specifically ports and ferry terminals, but I also enjoy designing urban layouts that feel functional and authentic. For the Ireland DLC, I am responsible for several cities and ferry hubs, including Waterford. I am dedicated to bringing these urban environments to life with high levels of detail, and I can’t wait for players to explore them.”
Veronika – Junior Map Designer

“From the pine-lined roads of Germany to the intricate waterways of Benelux, I’ve had the chance to work on many scenic regions. Now, we are diving into the mystical charm of Ireland. I personally associate the island with its iconic peat bogs and fairytale-like vistas. I am particularly excited about my work in the heart of Ireland, specifically around Athlone. Drivers can also look forward to discovering various roadside art sculptures during their journey.”
Anis – Map Designer
“My background is rooted in academic painting and art history, which gave me a very structured view of what ‘art’ should be. However, after six years as a Senior Map Designer at SCS, my perspective has shifted. From the quiet suburbs of Iberia to the rural bypasses of Slovenia, I’ve realized that art isn’t just on a canvas—it exists in scale, atmosphere, and the fine details of a digital world. We pour our hearts into every custom depot and city street we create.”
Marek – Junior Map Designer

“I joined the team less than a year ago and jumped straight into the Ireland project. I had the opportunity to work on the section of Galway featured in our initial teaser, which was a proud moment for me. Ireland’s diversity—ranging from dense city centers to rugged, mountainous terrain—offers a fantastic variety of locations to design. We truly hope you enjoy the final result as much as we’ve enjoyed building it.”
Libor – Map Designer

“Over the past four years, I’ve worked on the West Balkans, Greece, and Nordic Horizons. Each region has its own unique ‘soul,’ and I love the challenge of capturing that. Beyond major landmarks, I focus on the ‘geeky’ details—local signage, specific sidewalk textures, or wildflowers unique to a region. My current focus is Killarney National Park and the town of Killarney. The natural beauty there is staggering, and I am doing my best to translate that onto your screens. I believe these scenic, winding roads will be particularly enjoyable for future coach driving. I look forward to reading your feedback!”
Jitka – Map Designer

“Since joining in 2022, I’ve worked on the steep roads of Switzerland and the verticality of Luxembourg. Ireland offers a different kind of beauty: mist hanging over dark hills, endless heather moorlands, and villages where time seems to stand still. Ireland’s landscape has a magnetic quality, and I can’t wait for you to experience the atmosphere we are creating.”
Dimi – Junior Map Designer

“Hi, I’m Dimi. I’ve always dreamed of merging art with game development. Since joining SCS a year ago, I’ve worked on the Benelux rework and now Ireland. Some of my favorite landmarks I’ve had the pleasure of building include the Giant’s Causeway and Ben Bulben. I’ve fallen in love with the Irish countryside during my research, and I hope our recreation brings you joy. Bíodh lá maith agaibh!”
Jirka – Junior Map Designer

“Hello, I’m Jirka. I’ve been with the company for about 18 months. After contributing to the Benelux project, I am now working alongside this inspiring team on Ireland. I think players will truly appreciate the varied paths and stunning views that reflect the island’s authentic character.”
Tereza – Junior Map Designer

“I recently celebrated two years at SCS. After working on Germany, Benelux, and Nordic Horizons, I am preparing to move full-time to Ireland. It feels very ‘cosy’ compared to the massive highways I worked on previously. While left-hand traffic took a moment to get used to, I’ve managed to adapt! My favorite detail so far? The color-coded sheep. They make the landscape so much more vibrant. Thanks for letting us share our progress!”

That concludes today’s developer spotlight! We want to thank our team members for sharing their stories and their passion for the Isle of Ireland. Providing a glimpse behind the curtain is always a pleasure, as it highlights the talent required to expand our simulation world.
