Maggie Gyllenhaal’s latest directorial effort, The Bride!, is scheduled to arrive on digital VOD platforms on April 7, according to reports from WhenToStream.

Despite a star-studded cast led by Jessie Buckley and Christian Bale, the film struggled to find its footing during its theatrical run in March. It grossed a mere $23 million against a substantial $100 million production budget. Critical reception was also lukewarm, currently holding a 58% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

The film serves as a reimagining of the 1935 classic Bride of Frankenstein. Set in 1930s Chicago, the narrative follows Frank (Bale) as he seeks a companion (Buckley) crafted by his creator. The ensemble supporting cast includes Penélope Cruz, Annette Bening, and Jake Gyllenhaal.
