Madonna and Geena Davis Reunite at Coachella 37 Years After ‘A League of Their Own’

From the diamond of A League of Their Own to the desert stage of Coachella, Geena Davis and Madonna have shared a long-awaited reunion.

Nearly four decades after starring together in the iconic baseball classic, the two legends crossed paths once again under the lights of Coachella. The encounter was orchestrated by headliner Sabrina Carpenter, who surprised her audience during her second-weekend set by inviting both icons to the stage. Capturing the nostalgia, Davis took to Instagram on Wednesday (April 22) to post a heartfelt snapshot of the pair, cleverly nodding to their legendary on-screen personas.

“Mae – so happy to see you again! Love, Dottie,” Davis wrote in her caption, delighting fans of the 1992 film.

Both stars played pivotal roles in “Sabrinawood,” Carpenter’s conceptual stage production that reimagined Hollywood glamour. Geena Davis appeared as an older, weary version of the “Espresso” singer, complete with blonde tresses, delivering a poignant monologue about fame and legacy from the driver’s seat of a vintage car—a nod to her own career milestones. (Interestingly, the weekend prior, the role of “Older Sabrina” was played by Susan Sarandon, Davis’ legendary Thelma & Louise co-star.)

Madonna’s contribution to the set took a high-energy turn. The Queen of Pop commanded the stage with performances of her chart-topping hits “Like a Prayer” and “Vogue,” while also premiering an unreleased duet with Carpenter. The collaboration coincided perfectly with the release of Madonna’s latest single, “I Feel So Free,” which serves as the lead track for her upcoming studio album, Confessions II.
