IO Interactive has officially confirmed that Lana Del Rey is the voice behind the theme song for the highly anticipated title, 007 First Light. A lyric video for the track, titled “First Light,” debuted on streaming platforms earlier today, and you can listen to it below.
According to the video’s credits, Del Rey wrote and performed the song, which features a lush musical composition by the legendary David Arnold. While this marks Del Rey’s debut contribution to the Bond franchise, her involvement has been an open secret within the industry for months. Arnold is a seasoned veteran of the series, having previously scored iconic entries such as Casino Royale, Quantum of Solace, and Die Another Day. He also famously co-wrote “You Know My Name,” which remains a standout favorite among fans.
The star power doesn’t end with the music. 007 First Light features an impressive ensemble cast, with Patrick Gibson (known for The OA and Shadow and Bone) stepping into the role of a fresh, younger James Bond. He is joined by notable talents including Gemma Chan and Lenny Kravitz.
The track “First Light” is currently available across all major streaming services, including Spotify, Apple Music, and Tidal. As there is currently no cinematic accompaniment for the song, fans will have to wait until the game nears its release to experience the full, stylized opening sequence.
Serving as the first console-based 007 experience in over a decade, 007 First Light blends the signature stealth-action mechanics IO Interactive perfected in the Hitman series with a grounded origin story. The narrative explores Bond’s early days at MI6, charting his transformation into the legendary operative we know. 007 First Light is scheduled for a May 27 release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC. A Nintendo Switch 2 version is currently in development, though it has been pushed to a projected summer 2026 launch window.
