Lawsuit filed against Rockstar Games over firing of employees who worked on GTA 6

Late in October, the studio reportedly dismissed more than 30 employees, alleging they had disclosed confidential information.

Rockstar Games is facing a lawsuit brought by the Independent Workers’ Union of Great Britain (IWGB). Union activists say the company unlawfully fired staff for their “union activity”.

The union filed a formal claim after Rockstar repeatedly refused requests to meet for negotiations.

Despite our efforts to meet with Rockstar and resolve the issue through negotiation, the company refused and continued to dismiss union members in an unacceptable and unlawful way.

IWGB president Alex Marshall described the situation as “union-busting”.

The claim follows protests outside Rockstar’s Edinburgh offices, where former staffers waved signs demanding both reinstatement and compensation.

Rockstar has not commented on the claim, but IWGB activists remain confident they can hold the company to account.
