The closing ceremony of the third edition of the “Mayak” festival of contemporary Russian cinema was held in Gelendzhik.
The top prize went to the dramedy “Yura Was Here.” Debut director Sergey Malkin’s film follows three young men who find themselves caring for Yura (Konstantin Khabensky), a man with cognitive impairments.
Khabensky also received the festival award for Best Actor. Distributor Volga will handle the film’s release in Russian cinemas.
The main competition jury was chaired by director Bakur Bakuradze. The principal winners of “Mayak” are listed below.
