Last Epoch Developers Comment on Krafton’s AI Implementation Strategy

In October, Krafton declared itself the industry’s first AI-first game company — but Eleventh Hour Games, a studio owned by the Korean giant, insists the shift will not affect them.

Amid Krafton’s push to integrate AI into development, its subsidiary Eleventh Hour Games, creators of Last Epoch, released a separate statement. The team stressed they will continue working the traditional way — without adopting AI-driven tools.

There’s been a lot of conversation in the community about Krafton’s recent “AI-first” claims and what they might mean for EHG. To be clear: our development approach is not changing. We will continue to build Last Epoch the way we always have, following a hands-on, carefully refined design philosophy.

The developers noted they are hiring across multiple teams and are seeking candidates experienced in the ARPG genre. The notice was issued directly in response to players concerned that Krafton’s new direction might alter Eleventh Hour’s internal processes.

Still, the studio faced backlash over another portion of the announcement that outlined future plans. The team confirmed the Orobyss expansion will be free for Last Epoch owners, but also revealed plans to introduce paid character classes. That announcement angered a portion of the community, which accused the studio of breaking prior promises.
