Lana Del Rey Debuts Intimate New Single “White Feather Hawk Tail Deer Hunter”

Lana Del Rey is steadily preparing the table for her highly anticipated studio album, Stove. On Tuesday, February 17, the alternative-pop icon treated her audience to a fresh serving of music with the release of her latest single, “White Feather Hawk Tail Deer Hunter.”
The track was a collaborative effort with her husband, Jeremy Dufrene—whom she wed in September 2024. The song strikes a whimsical yet haunting tone, with Del Rey ruminating on her deep-seated devotion over a bed of swaying, atmospheric strings. “I know you wish you had a man like him, it’s such a bummer / When I met him, like an arrow, like a bird in the heart, like a sparrow,” she croons, adding the striking line, “We’re a match, he’s just in my bone marrow.”
Leaning into the domestic and mystical themes suggested by the album’s title, she continues: “And I wanted to know if I could use your stove / To cook somethin’ up for you ’cause you are / Positively voodoo, everything that you do.”
The creation of “White Feather Hawk Tail Deer Hunter” was a true family affair. Beyond Dufrene’s involvement, the lyrics were co-written by Del Rey’s sister, Chuck Grant, and her brother-in-law, Jason Pickens. Longtime creative partner Jack Antonoff returned to produce and help compose the track.
Earlier this month, when Del Rey first announced the single, she described it as her personal “favorite” from the Stove collection. She also provided a tentative timeline for the project, suggesting the full album will likely be ready for release in approximately three months.
The journey to this new era has been long-gestating. Del Rey first hinted at a country-inspired project in early 2024. Following the release of the lead single “Henry, Come On” in April 2025, the project—originally titled The Right Person Will Stay—was postponed and eventually rebranded. This upcoming record marks her first major release since 2023’s Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd, which reached No. 3 on the Billboard 200.
