Noel Gallagher Disparages Vegetarians on ‘Chicken Shop Date’ but Makes One Exception

Noel Gallagher joked that he has no time for vegetarians and vegans while appearing on the Chicken Shop Date episode posted Friday (Oct. 23).

Host Amelia Dimoldenberg opened by asking whether he liked chicken nuggets. The Oasis co-founder replied, “Who doesn’t?”

Dimoldenberg pointed out that vegetarians, by definition, aren’t fans. Gallagher said gravely, “F— those guys.”

When she then brought up vegans, he said, “Worse.” He added: “No stamina.”

He softened his stance when Sir Paul McCartney came up. “He’s one of those rare people that when you meet them and walk away, you feel more good about yourself,” Gallagher said.

Dimoldenberg noted that the former Beatle looks and acts much younger than you’d expect from someone in their 80s. “Well, he’s vegetarian, eh?” the Manchester native conceded. “Must be something in it.”

Gallagher also said he was thrilled to meet Matthew McConaughey. He said the encounter inspired him to buy a life-sized cardboard cut-out of the actor and display it at home.

“I’d met him at a friend’s wedding,” Gallagher said. “I’d never met anyone like him, and I bought a life-sized cardboard cut-out and put it in the front window for a month.”

The conversation with Dimoldenberg also covered Oasis’ 2025 stadium tour and the band’s plans for another tour next year. The 2025 run marked the first time Noel and his brother Liam Gallagher had reunited as Oasis since they began feuding in 2009. The shows were documented in the September film Oasis: Don’t Look Back in Anger.
