KPop Demon Hunters Gets Official Screen Comic Boxed Set Release Next Month
Netflix’s breakout animated feature KPop Demon Hunters has been an unqualified streaming hit, with more than 1 billion hours viewed and a yearlong record-setting streak on the streaming service’s top 10 charts. In November, KPop Demon Hunters will be coming home with a new Criterion Collection release that makes the cultural phenomenon easily available to watch offline.
Netflix has another offline KPop Demon Hunters release coming in November that is unlike anything the streamer has done before. Netflix has teamed up with Penguin Random House to give Rumi, Mira, and Zoey a special boxed set comic that reimagines the animated movie in a totally new way.
KPop Demon Hunters gets an official comic adaptation

KPop Demon Hunters: The Official Screen Comic Boxed Set is a 704-page, two-volume graphic novel that presents the movie as a full-color comic. Netflix and Penguin Random House take frames from the animated movie and lay them out like comic book panels, complete with speech bubbles and sound effects. Fans who want to obsess over every frame and panel will soon be able to do so at their own pace.

The set includes song lyrics from the full soundtrack, including the “Hunter’s Mantra” and “Jinu’s Lament.” The deluxe package features a holographic foil slipcase, two paperback volumes with foil-stamped book covers, and a spine design that highlights Rumi’s two sides. Foldout posters of Huntr/x and their rivals the Saja Boys are also included.

KPop Demon Hunters: The Official Screen Comic Boxed Set costs $60 and arrives on Nov. 3, which is the same day that the Criterion Collection release drops on DVD, Blu-ray, and 4K Blu-ray.

What’s next for KPop Demon Hunters
Over the past 18 months, Netflix has scrambled to catch up to the unexpected success with a flood of merchandise, ranging from American Girl dolls to Lego sets. In March 2026, Netflix officially inked a deal for a sequel, signing a multiyear writing and directing partnership with directors Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans. The creative duo will lead the next chapter for demon slayers Rumi, Mira, and Zoey.

Prior to that announcement, plans for a sequel were rumored for months as Netflix and Sony Pictures Animation eyed a follow-up after the film broke out. Sony quickly entered negotiations to lock Kang and Appelhans down for KPop Demon Hunters 2. KPop Demon Hunters is the most popular Netflix movie of all time.

Delivering a sequel to the pop culture phenomenon that spawned a chart-topping soundtrack, earned two Oscar nominations, won a Grammy, and captured the imagination of kids, tweens, and adults everywhere will be no easy feat. Kang, Appelhans, and crew will have plenty of time to figure it out. The sequel to KPop Demon Hunters does not have an announced release date, but it will not arrive before 2029 at the earliest.
